    Les homonymes


    LES HOMONYMES 
    Les mots qui ont une même sonorité, qui sont de prononciation identique mais de sens différents sont appelés
    HOMONYMES.
    Exemples : le bout, la boue, l'eau bout  (du verbe bouillir)sont des homonymes
    le bout de ficelle, marcher dans la boue, l'eau bout dans la casserole
    on distingue :

    • ceux dont l'orthographe est distincte : la boue, le bout
    • ceux dont l'orthographe est identique : le bout : l'eau bout
    • et les homonymes dits grammaticaux : et/est; a/à ;on/ont.

    Pour ne pas les confondre, il faut pour les uns les situer dans leurs contexte et procéder par substitution pour les autres.
