    Verbs  ending in : -eler, -eter… that are hard to conjugate

     

    List A : celer, déceler, harceler, receler - ciseler - démanteler - écarteler - encasteler - geler , congeler, décongeler, dégeler, surgeler - marteler - modeler - peler

    List B : acheter, racheter - corseter - crocheter - fileter - fureter - haleter

     Follow the procedure below to determine quickly if the verb you have to conjugate belongs to List A or List B

    First Case: Does the verb you have to conjugate ends with -ELER ? => YES. Proceed to next step

     Is it part of  list A ? => Yes, it is => je …èle /

    Is it part of  list A ? => No it isn’t => je …elle

    Second Case: Does the verb you have to conjugate ends with -ELER ? => NO. Proceed to next step

    Is it part of  list B ? => Yes, it is => je …ète

    Is it part of  list B ? => No it isn’t =>  je …ette

    Test :  conjugate the following verbs using the Present Indicative .
    Asking questions step by step like in the example above will help you arrive quickly at the correct conjugation .
