    Les loups avaient disparus. Tout était si étrange, si effrayant qu ' une terreur s ' emparat de moi au point de m ' interdire la moindre parole, le moindre mouvement. Nous avions reprit notre route, dans une obscurité opaque les nuage qui roulaient dans le ciel avaient complètement étouffés la lune. Le voyage me paraissait a présent ne jamais devoir se terminé. Nous montions et descendions, mais, à l ' allure général, je pouvez conclure qu ' en fin de comte nous gagnions de l ' altitude.
