La famille et les adjectifs possessifs mon, ma, ton , ta

The French equivalents of my and your have the following forms:

mon père (male) my father - ma mère (female) my mother

ton père  your father           ta mère your mother

                                     ---

mon frère (male) my brother - ma soeur (female) my sister 

ton frère your brother              ta soeur your sister

                                     ---

mon grand- père ( male) my grand-father - ma grand-mère (female) my grand-mother

mon oncle (male ) my uncle - ma tante (female) my aunt

mon cousin (male) my cousin - ma cousine (female) my cousin

NOTE! The feminine ma becomes mon and the feminine ta becomes ton before a vowel sound. 

Exemple : Mon amie - Liaison is required; it will sound:  Mon namie
