    Les adverbes dont la terminaison se prononce 'emã' (le son ã est celui des mots 'en, an, dans, dent') ne prennent qu'une seule lettre 'm' dans la terminaison 'ement'

    adjectif 'grave' > adverbe 'gravement


    Attention :

    Quelques adverbes dérivés d'adjectifs se terminant par un 'e' muet au féminin se terminent par 'ément'

    adjectif 'profond, profonde' > adverbe 'profondément'.


    Les adverbes dont la terminaison se prononce 'amã' prennent toujours deux lettres 'm' dans la terminaison.


    Si la terminaison de l'adjectif correspondant s'écrit 'ent', alors la terminaison de l'adverbe s'écrit 'emment'

    adjectif 'patient' > adverbe 'patiemment').


    En revanche, si la terminaison de l'adjectif correspondant s'écrit 'ant', alors la terminaison de l'adverbe s'écrit 'amment'

    adjectif 'puissant' > adverbe 'puissamment'.


    Les adverbes dérivés d'adjectifs se terminant par un 'u' prennent une terminaison en 'ument' ou en 'ûment'

    adjectif 'résolu' > adverbe 'résolument',

    adjectif 'assidu' > adverbe 'assidûment').


    Les adverbes dérivés d'adjectifs se terminant par un 'i' prennent une terminaison en 'iment' 

    adjectif 'joli' > adverbe 'joliment'.


    Quelques adverbes n'ont pas ou n'ont parfois plus d'adjectif correspondant, et il faut alors mémoriser l'orthographe de l'adverbe (comme les adverbes 'notamment, nuitamment, précipitamment' mais 'sciemment').
