    Peu/Peut/Peux


     

    peu is an  adverb of quantity. Its opposite is the adverb beaucoup.

     

    1) It can be used with a verb:

    Il boit peu.  (Opposite:  "Il boit beaucoup".)

     

    2) It can determine a noun:

    Cette école a  peu d’élèves. # Cette école a beaucoup d’élèves.



    With
    an uncountable noun:  un peu de / peu de

    Il y a un peu de brume  (a small quantity)

     

    3) in some expressions:

    à peu près  /quelque peu / pour peu que/ peu à peu


     







    peux,  The 1st or  2nde person of  singular of pouvoir verb.  

    peut,  The 3rd person of the singular , present of pouvoir verb,

    Il peut se mettre en colère. You could say : il pouvait se mettre en colère

    You can find "peut" in the adverb: "peut-être" (=maybe)
