    Hello dears,

Another easy exercice that everyone can do! Let's write together...

Voici les questions auxquelles vous pourrez répondre : This is a Second Chance exercise.

    1. «Is it easy for you to say: «No, sorry, I can’t!»?

    2. «Do you think appearances are important?»

    3. «Is a good education essential to have a ‘good job'?"

    4. «'I am what I am...' Your comments...»

Go for it! with THE FORCE.

    Hello dears!

Here is our first ANSWER, from Magie who's slowly recovering but still very tired... ! dear for making such an effort!

ANSWER A: please, indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy!

Do you think appearences are important?

Proverbs say: You can't judge a book by his cover or looks can be deceiving.
In my opinion, having a beautiful appearance is a mark of respect for oneself and others. An elegant person, clean, comfortable in their suit, smiling with polished elocution is still more attractive. Although this does not mean that the person is honest. However, she is intelligent and talented and good educated enough to at least appear so. You have to know a person before forming an opinion.
As far as I am concerned, between two candidates of the same value, I would give priority to the candidate who has the best presentation, getting to know him/her better. I think that it is more pleasant to work with an elegant colleague, than with someone who is poorly groomed and dressed without taste. Nevertheless it is still possible to help a person to improve their poor look.

    for your help!

In my opinion, having a beautiful appearance is a mark of respect for oneself and others. An elegant person, clean, comfortable in their suit, smiling with polished elocution is still (meaning?) more attractive (punctuation). Although this does not mean that the person is honest. However, she is intelligent and talented and good educated enough to at least appear so. You have to know a person before forming an opinion.
As far as I am concerned, between two candidates of the same value, I would give priority to the candidate who has the best presentation, getting to know him/her (something missing to make this sentence clearer?) better. I think that it is more pleasant to work with an elegant colleague, (punctuation) than with someone who is poorly groomed and dressed without taste. Nevertheless it is still (meaning?) possible to help a person to improve their poor look.

    Hello!

Proverbs say: You can't judge a book by its cover or looks can be deceiving.
In my opinion, having a beautiful appearance is a mark of respect for oneself and others. An elegant person, clean, comfortable in their suit, smiling with polished elocution is still more attractive (do you mean even more or always more ?), although this does not mean that the person is honest. However, he or she/they are intelligent and talented and well-educated* enough to at least appear** so. You have to know a person before forming an opinion.
As far as I am concerned, between two candidates of the same value, I would give priority to the candidate who has the best presentation, trying to get to know him or her (or them) better. I think that it is more pleasant to work with an elegant colleague, no comma than with someone who is poorly groomed and dressed without taste. Nevertheless it is still (always?) possible to help a person to improve their poor look.

"Well-educated is not exactly "bien éduqué". Do you mean well-mannered?
** "to at least appear" is a split infinitive. It seems to be generally accepted now, although some people might consider this is wrong.

    Hello dears,

Very few answers this fortnight... I do hate HOLIDAYS... On your side, I hope they are pleasant and entertaining, on my side when I see the lack of answers I'm quite discouraged...I think a lot about the 'sick', the 'injured', the Tired, and the Lazy... (Everyboby can be lazy fromtime to time, can't they? )

ANSWER A: Initial text: please, indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy!

The people who were Americans couldn't use them, nor like+ V etc...idem for the preterit used instead of the present perfect...

Proverbs say: 'You can't judge a book by its cover' or 'Looks can be deceiving'.
In my opinion, present oneself correctly is a mark of respect for oneself and others. An elegant person, clean, who is not awkward in their Sunday best, smiling with polished elocution is even more attractive than an unkempt person or appearing clumsy. Although this does not mean that the person is honest. However, she is intelligent and talented and well mannered enough, she inspires confidence. You have to know a person before forming an opinion.
As far as I am concerned, between two candidates of the same value, I would give priority to the candidate who has the best presentation, trying to get to know them better. I think that it is more pleasant to work with an elegant colleague, than with someone who is badly combed and dressed without taste. Nevertheless it is always possible to help a person to improve their bad looking.

    Hello dearest Magie!

I hope your health is improving and life is sweeter and sweeter to You!

Nevertheless it is always possible to help a person to improve their bad look/ing/ appearance.

    - 'comfortable in their clothes' is OK.

    Lien internet

    "What Is a Split Infinitive
A split infinitive is created by placing an adverb or adverbial phrase between the to and the verb—for example, to boldly go, to casually walk, to gently push.

In order to fully understand, one must first pay attention.
Our only hope was to sincerely forgive the transgression.
The plan was to more than triple the employment of the company.
Although some grammarians have widely condemned split infinitives, they’re common in writing of all kinds.
En tu dis simplement 'to go boldly'/ to walk casually/ to push gently', c'est à dire que tu mets l'adverbe à sa place, derrière le verbe, sans toucher à l'infinitif complet.
    When to Avoid Split Infinitives
When moving the adverb to the end of a phrase doesn’t cause confusion or change the sentence’s meaning, keeping the infinitive intact is a good idea.
    For example:
He urged me to casually walk up and say hello.

    Becomes
He urged me to walk up casually and say hello." I hope it'll be clearer, but don't worry too much, as split infinitives are quite common in Canada. (Simply ask your teacher before taking an exam.)

they are intelligent and talented and well-educated* enough to at least appear** so.
...They are intelligent, talented and well bred enough at least to appear to be so.

Courage !
