I have a problem about the use of: for or of
I don't know when I must use of and when I must use for.
Please can you help me? (is there any rule?)

Hello!
En gros, for = pour
--- for + nom: for my mother, for the garden
--- for + pronom: for me, for you, for him, for her, for us, for them
--- for + verbe+ing (indiquant utilité/emploi)
[What is it for: ça sert à quoi?]
It's -> for cleaning the sink (c'est pour nettoyer l'évier) -- it's for cutting wood (c'est pour couper le bois)
--- il y a ensuite les cas de for + période de temps.
C'est un chapitre à part. Dans beaucoup de cas, for = depuis, mais dans d'autres cas, for = pendant, pour
of = de ( à différencier de "from" indiquant idée de provenance--> from Paris = de Paris/qui vient de Paris)
of the + nom singulier = du, de la, de l'
of the + nom pluriel = des
of peut se trouver dans des expressions comme par ex: : of course = bien sûr
of peut se trouver après un verbe comme par ex: Think of me = pense à moi.
Voilà les premières notions à réviser pour t'aider à progresser.
Fais des exercices du site sur ces prépositions!
Prends notes quand tu lis pour te faire une bonne réserve d'exemples.
