does Is this sentence is grammatically correct?
whywe have they used the present perfect continuous and not the present perfect here?
We have been waiting here for over half an hour and nobody has taken our order yet.

They used the pp continuous because they insisted on the duration of the action, not on the consequence.

Rappelez-vous que certaines prépositions, adverbes ou conjonctions réclament le Present Perfect (for, since, just ...)(sauf si l'action dont on parle a eu lieu dans le passé).
Si vous insistez sur la durée du verbe, ce qui est le cas avec 'to WAIT', la forme progressive (ou continue) est de mise.
