    Bonjour,

    Could you help me please?
    I wonder what the difference is between these 2 sentences is :

    I am almost finished / I have almost finished
    I've never heard before" I have almost finished" .

    Thank you for your answers

    Bonjour,
    les deux existent:
    I have almost finished (this book): j'ai presque terminé ce livre.
    I am almost finished: je suis presque au bout, me paraît moins soutenu mais existe.
    I am through: dictionnaire en ligne:
    1.(familier)(finished) fini;
    are you ~ with the paper? as-tu fini de lire le journal?;

    le lien de headway suivant est très clair.

    Hello,
    Thank you for the explanation and the interesting link.Now I have my answer and "have you finished" doesn't seem so weird to hear or read after all.
    Now, I will seem more polite to my Aussie customers when they pay a visit to New-Caledonia
    "-have you finished?" instead of "are you finished ?" when I want to take their empty plates off the table.

    THank you
